We all know that our faces and bodies are part of the best of Allah’s creation — yet we still hold small insecurities about certain features. Today’s newsletter is about something gentle and practical: styling your hijab to enhance your natural beauty without changing who you are.

Sometimes the hijab can highlight features we already feel insecure about. For example, if you know me, you’ve noticed my face is small, oval, and my cheeks are naturally sunken. Many people find that beautiful, but depending on how I wear my hijab, it can make me look tired (even when I feel great!).

To help you avoid this, here’s a simple method based on three elements you’ll see in each section:

Fold → This is the point where you fold the hijab along the side of your face to secure it. The fold determines how much of your cheeks and jawline show.
Top → This refers to how the hijab sits on your forehead (high, low, rounded, or triangular).
Styles → The hijab wrapping styles that best suit each face shape.

OVAL FACE

Fold:
Most oval faces have higher cheekbones. Folding the hijab under the cheekbone or at the center helps balance the upper and lower parts of the face, giving a more harmonized and proportional look.

Top:
Shape the top of the hijab in a triangle and keep the forehead visible. This opens the face and highlights the natural symmetry of an oval shape.

ROUND FACE

Fold:
Round faces have naturally soft and youthful features. The only challenge is that a tightly wrapped hijab can make the face look even rounder. Folding the hijab at the eye line helps create the appearance of more length and balance. It opens the face, softens the roundness, and brings attention to your smile.

Top:
Shape the top in a triangle and keep the forehead visible. This avoids emphasizing the circular shape and adds a bit of height, which bring forward your natural features in the most flattering way.

SQUARE FACE

Fold:

Square faces often have a pronounced jawline, which is a strong and structured feature. The hijab can soften this angle and bring more focus to the center of your face. Folding the hijab just under the cheekbone lifts attention upward, balances the jawline, and creates a smoother, more harmonious outline.

Top:

Shape the top of your hijab in a rounded form and cover a bit of the forehead. This softens the angles of your features and creates a smoother, more balanced look, without taking away from the natural structure of your face.
